SCS receives support from the City of Sunnyvale, County of Santa Clara, Emergency Food and Shelter Program, and United Way Silicon Valley. 84% of our revenue comes from the corporate and community sector. Our overhead ranges between 10% and 12%, very low for nonprofits especially smaller ones with fewer cost centers to distribute overhead expenses.
1. For our Food ProgramsCanned and packaged foods:
tuna peanut butter cereal powdered milk (Milkman packets) canned stews, chili, other protein items canned soups canned fruits and vegetables tomato sauce, tomato paste pasta, rice, and beans2. Brown Paper Bags
We use thousands every month. They are becoming more expensive but hold much more than plastic bags and stack more easily.
3. Hotel Collectors
Collect unopened hotel size soaps, lotions, shampoos, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and combs. Most of us think of these items as necessitities, but for low-income families and seniors, they are luxuries.
4. For our auction that benefits the Community Christmas Center
vacation homes/condos for a week or weekend electronic items (DVD, TV, pocket PCs, GPS systems, games) sports memorabilia sport event tickets gourmet items, dinners one of a kind items such as a flight in a small plane jewelry hobby to share (trip on a boat, rock climbing lesson) collectibles gift certificates for services and meals anything someone might buyClick the links below to make credit card donations online, donate items for the Community Christmas Center, or donate stock, cars, or RVs.
