Food Programs
Sunnyvale Community Services (SCS) is committed to reducing hunger and strengthening food security for individuals and families in North Santa Clara County. In collaboration with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and a network of partners, we provide essential food and in-kind assistance to neighbors experiencing hardship.
Our Food Assistance Programs offer consistent access to nutritious food and supportive services. We provide:
- a weekly drive-thru distribution for registered clients,
- a self-select pantry specifically designed for unhoused community members to choose the items that best meet their needs, and
- home deliveries for seniors and others unable to travel
Every program is designed to meet people where they are. For more information, contact the food and nutrition department at food@svcommunityservices.org.

Food Assistance Programs
Our Weekly Food Program hosts drive-thru food distributions where enrolled households receive fresh fruits and vegetables, and grocery staples including fresh milk, eggs and proteins.
The SCS Home Delivery Program delivers supplemental groceries and easy-to-prepare items twice a month to enrolled individuals who cannot access onsite services because of physical, mental, or cognitive impairments and who lack other support to maintain access to food assistance.
The self-select pantry offers our unhoused neighbors the opportunity to choose the foods and essential items that best meet their individual needs. In addition to weekly distributions, enrolled clients may visit the pantry twice a week. Available items include toiletries, ready-to-eat meals, easy-to-prepare foods, pop-top canned items, and other basic essentials.
In partnership with nine Sunnyvale schools serving more than 5,500 students, SCS provides a range of healthy, shelf-stable snacks to help students remain focused throughout the school day. This partnership ensures that food insecurity is addressed promptly so students can stay engaged in learning.
