Housing Navigation & Rental Assistance
The Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program helps eligible households experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness secure and maintain stable housing.
Administered by Sunnyvale Community Services (SCS) in partnership with the City of Sunnyvale, the TBRA Program combines housing navigation, rental assistance, and supportive services to help individuals and families achieve long-term housing stability. Program funding is provided in whole or in part by the City of Sunnyvale.
Services May Include
- Housing navigation and housing search assistance
- Temporary rental assistance
- Security deposit assistance
- Case management and housing stabilization services
- Referrals to community resources and supportive services
Eligibility
Sunnyvale Community Services welcomes all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or actual or perceived gender identity.
To be eligible, applicants must generally meet the following requirements:
- Be experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness.
- Have a connection to the City of Sunnyvale (reside, work, or attend school in Sunnyvale).
- Have a household income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Santa Clara County.
- Meet U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration requirements.
- No household member may be subject to a lifetime sex offender registration requirement.
Additional eligibility requirements may apply based on program guidelines and funding regulations.
