Events : Share the Joy 2024

Our mission is simple and critically important: Preventing Homelessness and Hunger in Our Local Community. The holidays are an especially busy time at SCS as we experience an increase in families requesting food, rental and utility assistance, and holiday items for the family.

Your gift will also help to keep our programs going all year long. Since last year, the number of households we serve has gone up from 10,614 to over 11,300 low-income residents. The average monthly rent in Sunnyvale is now the eighth highest in the country. With the eviction moratorium no longer in effect, and cuts to food stamp and tax credit programs, the need for safety net services is greater than ever. We recently provided groceries to over 1400 families in a single day! This was a new record, and there is no end in sight to the increased need.
