Group Volunteering

We rely on our corporate and community partners to help us pack, sort and assemble the groceries we distribute to our clients on a regular basis. Volunteering at SCS  is a fun team building activity and a pivotal part of our work and our mission to prevent hunger in our local community.

Please assemble your volunteer team prior to signing up for a shift to ensure they have committed to completing the designated hours and tasks.

Cancellations or a lack of participants affect our ability to provide groceries to our clients. Group cancellations or failure to produce the confirmed number of volunteers not only greatly affects our ability to provide basic services to our clients, but increases labor costs and puts a strain on our staff.

Our Grocery Packs are an assembly line style pack that helps ensure our clients get the groceries they are relying on

-The maximum number of volunteers per shift is 20 individuals.

-Available shifts are 8:00 am - 11am and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm | Every 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Wednesday of every month. Shifts directly correspond to our distribution days and we are unable to accommodate requests for different days or times.

-The ability to lift up to 25lbs and stand for 3 hours is required.

Smaller groups and individuals are encouraged and welcome to participate as well. With your commitment and participation in these vital activities, our mission to prevent hunger and homelessness in our local community can become reality.

Once your group is able to commit to the full shift please email volunteer@svcommunityservices.org for booking dates or more information
