Partnering with Downtown Streets Team
Sunnyvale Community Services is proud to work with Downtown Streets Team (DST), an organization committed to helping homeless men and women rebuild their lives through a volunteer work-readiness program. DST provides food and housing vouchers to team members in exchange for sweeping streets, lining soccer fields, performing janitorial work, and more.
Downtown Streets Team is in four Bay Area communities including Palo Alto, San Jose, Sunnyvale, and San Rafael. The Sunnyvale team members are providing janitorial services at the Cold-Weather Shelter (the Armory) in addition to working every day to help keep the community clean, including cleaning the Sunnyvale Community Services parking lot every week.
Founded in 2005, Downtown Streets Team expanded to Sunnyvale in 2012. Since that time Sunnyvale Community Services has been an enthusiastic supporter and partner in their efforts to move the homeless into permanent housing. Please bring your donation to the side (warehouse) door. If it is not open, please ring the bell and someone will come and open the door.

Founded in 1970, Sunnyvale Community Services is an independent, nonprofit emergency assistance agency. Our mission is to prevent homelessness and hunger for low-income families and seniors facing temporary crises. We provide financial aid, food, and other support that prevents larger problems with more expensive solutions.
