Like many of you, we at Sunnyvale Community Services are deeply troubled about the long-standing injustice against people of color in our community and nation. We see the pain of discrimination and social inequities on the faces of people coming to our doors every day. The lack of opportunity and the deep-seated discrimination have caused generations of poverty that must finally be recognized.

We work every day to alleviate the symptoms of this discrimination, but to truly live our mission to prevent homelessness and hunger, we must address the root causes. This means a change of hearts and minds, providing a united stand as we endeavor to promote fundamental change in our society.

Sunnyvale Community Services has never tolerated racism and discrimination towards clients, volunteers, and staff, and we will work tirelessly to assure our agency never deviates from these values. For the past fifty years, we have stood as a safety net and safe space for anyone coming to our doors. We will continue to advocate for justice and true equity for all in our community. We have a lot of work we must do together to stand up for justice and embrace inclusion.
